Clamping
Definition: Tie-dye is a method in which parts of the fabric are tie so as not to absorb the dye when it is immersed in it.
Procedure:
- Place the fabric on a flat surface
- Fold fabric like accordion pleats or as desired
- Clamp fabric as desired using paper clips or clothes pegs
- Damp fabric with cold water
- Immerse fabric in dye bath for 20 minutes
- Remove and rinse fabric until water runs clear
- Allow fabric to dry before removing clips or pegs
