Clamping





Clamping 
Definition: Tie-dye is a method in which parts of the fabric are tie so as not to absorb the dye when it is immersed in it. 


Procedure:
  • Place the fabric on a flat surface 
  • Fold fabric like accordion pleats or as desired 
  • Clamp fabric as desired using paper clips or clothes pegs 
  • Damp fabric with cold water 
  • Immerse fabric in dye bath for 20 minutes 
  • Remove and rinse fabric until water runs clear 
  • Allow fabric to dry before removing clips or pegs
