Folding
Definition: Tie-dye is a method in which parts of the fabric are tie so as not to absorb the dye when it is immersed in it.
Procedure:
- Place fabric on flat surface
- Fold fabric in accordion pleats in horizontal line
- At one end of the horizontal line fold fabric to form rectangular shape
- Tie the fabric tightly together in a crosswise position then damp with cold water
- Immerse in dye bath and leave for 20 minutes
- Remove fabric from bath and rinse until water runs clear
- Allow to drip dry and repeat method using a different colour dye bath
